- What's the difference between pressure washing and soft washing?
- Pressure washing cleans with mechanical force and is appropriate for durable surfaces like concrete driveways, sidewalks and some masonry. Soft washing uses low pressure plus an appropriate cleaning solution, so the cleaning is done by the solution rather than by force. Soft washing is what we use on most house exteriors, stucco, painted siding, trim, screens and roofs. Many properties get both in the same visit — pressure on the flatwork, soft washing on the house.
- Do you serve areas outside Killearn?
- Yes. Killearn is our home base, and we serve Tallahassee and surrounding communities — including Killearn Lakes, Golden Eagle, Killearn Estates, Ox Bottom, SummerBrooke, Bradfordville, Betton Hills, Waverly Hills, SouthWood and Northeast Tallahassee generally. If you are not sure whether your address is in our area, submit a service request with your address and we will confirm.
- Are you insured?
- Yes. Killearn Exterior Cleaning is insured. If you would like documentation of coverage, ask in your service request and we will provide it.
- Can I request several services at once?
- Yes, and it is usually the better way to do it. Our request form lets you select multiple services, and it asks follow-up questions only for the ones you choose. Combining work into one visit also lets us sequence it correctly — for example, washing the house before cleaning the windows.
- What if I don't know which cleaning method my home needs?
- That is expected, and you do not need to figure it out. Choose the "I'm not sure what I need" path in the request form and simply tell us what you are noticing — green growth, a stained driveway, streaking on the roof, dirty windows. Photos help. We determine the appropriate method based on the surface and its condition.
- Can I send photos?
- Yes, and we encourage it. The request form accepts multiple photos from a phone or computer. Photos let us understand the scope and condition of the surfaces before we contact you, which makes the conversation much more useful. For drainage, erosion or retaining wall concerns, photos are especially valuable.
- Do you clean two-story homes?
- Yes. Two-story homes are common throughout the neighborhoods we serve, and the form asks how many stories your home has so we can plan access and method in advance. If any area is unusually difficult to reach — over a screen enclosure, above a steep roof section, behind heavy landscaping — note it in your request and we will address it when we review the details.
- Can I request recurring exterior maintenance?
- Yes. Many homeowners prefer routine exterior care rather than waiting until surfaces look overdue. Quarterly, semiannual, annual and customized intervals are all possible for items like exterior washing, driveway and concrete maintenance, windows, gutters and seasonal cleanup. Selecting the routine maintenance option in the form simply tells us you are interested — it does not enroll you in anything.
- Can you help if I notice drainage or another exterior property issue?
- Tell us about it. Our request form includes drainage, standing water, erosion, French drain concerns, retaining wall issues and general exterior property problems. Not all of that is work performed directly by Killearn Exterior Cleaning — some of it belongs to other trades. We can help determine the appropriate next step and, when needed, connect you with the appropriate local professional for larger exterior property projects.
- Do I need to be home during service?
- It depends on the property and the work involved — access to water, gates, screened areas, pets and parking all factor in. Note your preference in your service request and we will discuss it when we review the details, so the arrangement is settled before the service date rather than on the day.
- How do I get in touch?
- All contact currently runs through the request form on this site. Submit your details and any photos, and we will follow up using the contact method you select. Every submission is recorded with its own request ID.
- How often should exterior surfaces be cleaned in North Florida?
- It varies by property. Homes under heavy canopy, on shaded lots, or near lakes and stormwater areas tend to show organic growth sooner than homes with more sun and airflow. Rather than quoting a universal interval, we would rather look at your specific surfaces and conditions and give you a straight answer about what makes sense for your property.
